Here are some highlights from the last two centuries! This is by no means comprehensive, but gives you a taste of what God has done through Scripture Gift Mission since 1888.

1888 - 1956 (click below for 1956-2005)

• 1888 Scripture Gift Mission founded by William Walters
• 1895 Scripture Gift Mission prints its first translation - John's gospel in Arabic
• 1899 Scripture Gift Mission starts a tradition by supplying gospels to troops in the Boer War
• 1914-1918 Scripture Gift Mission publishes 43 million gospels for troops
• 1924 The first Scripture Gift Mission booklet - God has spoken - is printed
• 1939-1945 Scripture Gift Mission prints Scripture posters for bomb shelters and 74 million items for troops
• 1947 Office opened in Johannesburg, South Africa
• 1949 Seeing the door closing, Scripture Gift Mission prints gospels for China before they become illegal
• 1952-53 Offices opened in Belfast, Northern Ireland & Melbourne, Australia
• 1956 Scripture Gift Mission headquarters, Eccleston Hall, burns down after a gas explosion
